Lavender Meadows is a Partner Operator of the Early Childhood Development Agency of Singapore.
As a Drama Teacher with our first pre-school centre in Malaysia, you will be responsible for enhancing our children’s learning by executing Speech and Drama lessons according to the curriculum. You will contribute to creating a secure environment for our children through enhancing trusting and respectful relationships with them. You will be proactive and intentional in strengthening partnerships with families and the community, and co-design collaborative efforts with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve this goal. As an experienced early childhood educator, you will guide other teachers in enhancing their practice. You will also be expected to engage in continuous learning and reflective practice, as well as contribute to the centre’s culture of collaboration and collegiality.The centre will be located in central Kuala Lumpur.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order
- Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students
- Conduct Speech and Drama lessons and assist with curriculum planning and development
- Prepare lesson plan and material and submit them weekly
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, policies, and administrative regulations
- Prepare reports / portfolios on students and activities as required by administration
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development
- Contribute to fostering a culture of collaboration
Qualification and Skills
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education; Certificate in Speech and Drama or equivalent will be an advantage
- Fluent in English on a business level, additional languages will be an advantage
- At least 2 years relevant working experience
- Experience and previous training in music and movement, speech and drama preferred
- Strong passion for arts and drama who loves to work with pre-school children
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Friendly and Caring
- IT savvy
