Overview

ADRA, a relief agency for Somalian and Ethiopian refugees, is currently seeking native-English speaking teachers for its LIR project.

The mission of ADRA-LIR is to facilitate the integration and self-reliance of the Somalian/Ethiopian refugee population in Basateen, Aden with Yemeni society as the possibility of repatriation and resettlement of refugees becomes more and more unlikely for the near future. To do so, we implement a variety of educational, vocational, and awareness programs within Basateen and the surrounding community. One of the most successful aspects of this program is the English language program we offer to refugees and vulnerable peoples. We are currently providing six courses for a total of approximately 150 students, with a long waiting list. These courses are provided free of charge to at-need/at-risk individuals in order that they might find income generating opportunities in Yemen.
All materials, books, and training will be provided for teachers.
