EXPERIENCED CENTRE, ACTIVITY AND STUDENT WELFARE MANAGEMENT ROLES AVAILABLE AT LSC CENTRES IN SUMMER 2018
LSC is recruiting driven, energetic and responsible Centre, Activity Managers and Student Welfare Officers for our accredited ESL centres running at iconic universities set within picturesque locations across the United Kingdom between June and August. These exciting and challenging residential positions provide staff with modern facilities, excellent accommodation with meals included, as well as continuous professional development.

We are currently recruiting for the following Centre Staff managerial roles to ensure that our students receive positive and encouraging direction, an engaging social programme delivered within a fun learning environment that is always exceptionally safeguarded.
Centre Manager
The Centre Manager is the key LSC member of staff on campus and will have the overall responsibility in ensuring that the centre is a success.
Duties will include acting as the company representative to clients, completing important admin duties and managing the team of LSC Staff.
Activity Manager
Activity Managers are the event planners, sports organisers, and the brains behind making the LSC social programme an unforgettable student experience.
Duties will include running a smooth social programme, managing the activity leaders and carrying out LSC’s safeguarding policies.
Student Welfare Officer
The Welfare Officer focuses on the care, safety and wellbeing of the students at the centre whilst maintaining school rules, policies and procedures.
Duties include making sure student supervision remains consistent, being aware of special requirements, installing emergency procedures and acting as the Designated Safeguarding Officer.
LSC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As part of our Safer Recruitment Policy you will be asked to explain any gaps in your work and education history. You will also be required to undergo a DBS Enhanced Disclosure check and provide the contact details of at least 2 referees, who will be asked specifically if they have any concerns about your suitability to work with people under 18. Evidence of eligibility to work in the UK must be provided at interview stage. The cost of the DBS will be split between LSC and yourself, your contribution will be £24.40 and will be taken out of your first payment.
This role meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants who are offered employment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Serviced check before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions.
Contracts
Typically run between 4 and 9 weeks. However, our peak period runs from late June - mid August and priority will be given to those available to complete a full course during this period.
All Centre Managerial Staff applicants should have:
- Relevant managerial experience within summer schools
- Have an interest in sport, art, music or performance
- Be available throughout most of June and all of July
- Be motivated, dedicated and professional
- Be cool, calm and collective
- Demonstrate proven organisational skills
- Be computer efficient
