Early Years English Teacher, Shanghai, China (Ref. ZR19)

Our client is a well-known American franchise for early childhood education started in 1961, now with over 155 schools in America. In only their third year in China, they have already opened their 18th school. They are accredited by AdvancED, the world's largest educational certification body, ensuring they meet or exceed strict education qualification certifications.

As a result of their growth, they are looking for two English Early Years teachers for a July - August start, to work in their purpose built 5,200 sqm kindergarten in Shanghai, China.

As the English kindergarten teacher, with the collaboration of Chinese co-teachers, you will lead students through creative play and hands-on activities, teaching English academic skills, delivering instruction in a variety of areas, including science, sports (PE), phonics, music, and art, and help students learn to read and write. You will instruct children on basic mathematical concepts, number recognition, simple addition, and subtraction, basic fractions, measurement, and problem-solving. Promote social skills, STEAM activities, arts and humanities, practical living and social studies.

In the morning you will be the lead teacher, with classes taught in English, and in the afternoon, you will support the Chinese teacher, with classes taught in Chinese.

 

Salary: 240,000 - 300,000 CNY plus housing allowance, flights, insurance etc.

To be successful in this role you should have a university degree, (preferably in early childhood education or related area), with 1 – 3 years teaching experience in early childhood education. You need to be a native level English speaker. 

Ideally, you should have working knowledge of the behaviours and developmental stages of infant/toddler/preschool/school-age children, typically gained by working one year or more in a school or preschool setting and have knowledge of safety practices related to infant/toddler/preschool/school-age children.
