The Job
We are now holding interviews for professional ESL teachers to join our partner schools in the vibrant city of Beijing. Our teachers will be assigned to teach at public primary or middle schools in Mentougou District in Beijing.
Teachers will work on a Monday to Friday schedule with evenings & weekends off plus public Chinese holidays and long summer & winter vacations to explore around the vibrant capital city of Beijing. Teachers should use a communicative approach to guide our students aged from 6 to 15 years old with their individual learning process. There are around 40 students per class and the school will provide well-structured teaching materials. Interactions are encouraged in class such as group work, pair work, project work as well as some traditional teaching methods to add variety to the classes and help create a fun and relaxed learning environment.

Beijing – The City
Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China, is the nation’s political, economic, cultural, educational and international trade and communication center. Located in northern China, close to the port city of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei province, Beijing continues to be an exciting place for all things music, fashion and art with plenty of events and shows to attend.
There is a thriving expat community in Beijing, with the Sanlitun area being a popular destination for both expats and trendy locals to mix and mingle over drinks. One of the most important landmarks in the city is Tiananmen Square. This is the world’s largest public square and a must see for all visitors from abroad and from other places in China.
Main Responsibilities
-Maximum of 20 teaching hours per week
-Maximum of 20 admin hours per week
-Monday to Friday Schedule with evenings & weekends off
-Student ages: 6 to 15 years old
-Class size: average of 40 students per class
-Conduct oral English classes that are fun and engaging
-Attend English activities held by the school
Compensation
-Monthly salary: 15,000 RMB (after tax)
-Free accommodation provided
-Airfare allowance provided on contract completion: 4000 RMB
-All public national holidays (full pay) plus around 45 to 50 days of summer vacation (no pay) & around 30 days of winter vacation (no pay)
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
-Accident insurance provided
-On-going training and program support
Requirements
-Native English speakers from US, UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Ireland or South Africa
-Bachelor’s degree or above
-TEFL certificate with 120 hours or above required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
-2 years relevant teaching experience preferred (fresh graduates will be considered)
-Clean criminal background
-Motivated, professional, creative, outgoing and culturally aware
