Job Summary
The English Instructor will be responsible for facilitating the acquisition of English language within an engaging learning environment to prepare Saudi young adults for the Cambridge PET Certification, future vocational studies in English as well as entrance into the multi-cultural workforce of Saudi Arabia.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach classes with up to 25 students and for up to 25 hours of in class instruction per week
- Produce effective lesson plans and supplementary learning materials
- Write formal and informal assessments
- Invigilate and otherwise participate in students’ assessment
- Provide meaningful student feedback
- Mark and report student results accurately
- Attend departmental meetings
- Participate in professional development sessions
- Participate in PET speaking examiner training
- Collaborate with diploma content teachers for ESP courses
- Maintain positive rapport with all students and create a positive learning environment to adequately communicate lessons
- Enforce the student management and disciplinary policies of the Institute
- Perform clerical duties as required relating to textbooks, instructional supplies, student reports and records, attendance reports, and others
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English combined with a TESOL, TEFL or TESL qualifications on a condition that the certification is completed in class with a minimum of 120 hours with at least 6 hours of observed teaching OR Bachelor’s degree in any field with CELTA or DELTA or Master’s degree in TESOL or Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics completed in class with 6 hours of teaching practicum
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in post-secondary, technical or vocational sector is required
- Non-native English speakers should present Academic IELTS 7.5 within three months of signing the offer
- Computer literacy (interactive whiteboards, projectors, Microsoft Office Suite and trainee information systems)
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse context, especially with a group of employees of various nationalities
