Academic manager required in China

The ideal applicant will be ready to:
• liaise with other head office and supervisory staff to implement best practice
• lead, manage and support a team of teachers
• support with teacher scheduling, including covering for teacher absences
• train new teachers in the Shane methodology
• be responsible for the quality of teaching through undertaking observations and providing follow-up training
• help train new and teachers in sound academic practice
• develop materials and course guides to support the delivery of courses
• support the franchise in the recruitment of teachers
• undertake various administrative duties

The role will consist of a 35-hour working week. This will consist of a maximum of 15 teaching hours with other hours to be used for academic management. The role will consist of a basic 5-day week, but flexibility will be required.

Requirements
Native English Speaker
• Recognised University Degree (BA/BSc, BEd or higher)
• Accredited TEFL Certification (CELTA, TESOL etc)
• Sound knowledge of EFL teaching methodology and practice
• 2+ years of EFL teaching experience (ideally a variety of courses and levels)
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
• Leadership qualities
• Energy and enthusiasm / willingness to learn and flexibility to adapt
• Strong interest in developing your career, skills and future options
• Computer literacy in standard packages
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Preferable Requirements
• Previous supervisory/management/leadership experience
• Experience in training teachers
• Experience of quality improvement procedures in education - particularly observing teaching

• Salary: 18,000 to 20,000 RMB (Dependent upon experience and qualifications)
