Jiangyin is a city in China's Jiangsu province on the Yangtze River. Jiangyin's name means "River Shade", from its location on the south or shady side of the Yangtze River. At Jiangyin, there are the electricity pylons of Yangtze River Crossing, which are taller than Eiffel Tower. The Jiangyin Suspension Bridge, spanning the Yangtze, links the southern half of the province with the northern half. Jiangyin is in the region of Northern Wu Chinese, which means the inhabitants speak a dialect similar to that of Shanghai.
