The Job

We are a modern and progressive language school in Beijing, is now holding interviews for professional, reliable and energetic English teachers. Teach young learners between 3 to 12 years old using your creativity and our extensive teaching resources and materials.

If you¡¦ve got lots of energy and a positive attitude ¡V there¡¦s nothing getting in your way! As an English teacher at our school, you¡¦ll be joining a growing team of teachers and staff working together to make a better language learning experience for some happy children.

We focus on teaching high quality classes, with 10 to 14 students per class, and we aim to provide a professional and efficient education for preschool, primary and secondary school students. So far we have helped over 11,000 students, taking them from a level of zero English experience to levels that can compete with some natives.

We use the American Big English text books as our curriculum which are specifically designed for young learners. In the classroom, we put strong emphasis on the communicative approach, interactive teaching and making the class interesting and captivating for young learners.

Beijing The City
Beijing, capital of the Peoples Republic of China, is the nations political, economic, cultural, educational and international trade and communication center. Located in northern China, close to the port city of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei province, Beijing continues to be an exciting place for all things music, fashion and art with plenty of events and shows to attend. 

There is a thriving expat community in Beijing, with the Sanlitun area being a popular destination for both expats and trendy locals to mix and mingle over drinks. One of the most important landmarks in the city is Tiananmen Square. This is the worlds largest public square and a must see for all visitors from abroad and from other places in China. 

Main Responsibilities
o Maximum of 25 teaching hours per week (usually less)
o Maximum of 15 admin hours per week
o Work schedule: 1pm to 9pm on weekdays and 8:30 to 18:30 on weekends (Monday and Tuesday are off) 
o Student ages: 3 to 12 year olds 
o Class size: 10 to 14 students 
o Prepare for each class with written lesson plans and teaching materials in advance
o Use electronic media and courseware to teach English efficiently and effectively 
o Evaluate students progress and provide ongoing guidance for improvement 
o Actively pursue your personal development through workshop attendance, reading, peer observations
o Be able to be a part of a team


Compensation
o Excellent salary: 12,000 to 18,000 RMB per month (based on qualification & experience) 
o Free housing accommodation OR 3,000 RMB monthly housing allowance 
o Airfare allowance provided: up to 6,000 RMB (paid on contract completion)
o End of year bonus: 6,000 RMB 
o Annual salary increase
o All national holidays paid 
o Legal Z work visa provided
o Personal teaching assistant provided 
o Professional pre job training with on going program supervision 
o Performance based seasonal raises 


Requirements
o Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa
o BA degree required
o TEFL certificate 120 hours preferred (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL, est. 1993, 50% discounts: www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
o Fluency in oral and written English 
o 2 years of relevant teaching experience preferred
o Good mental and physical health and clean criminal record
o Energetic, friendly and hard working
