Overview

Sichuan Mianyang Normal University is a university under the jurisdiction of Sichuan. The University is located in Mianyang, China’s City of Science and Technology, which is famous as the Silicone Valley situated in West China. It has 14,000 full time students specialized in 60 majors and a faculty of 1,100, over 800 of whom are professors, associate professors and lecturers besides up to 10 international experts and 50 international visiting professors. It occupies an area of 126 acres in addition to another area of 250 acres under construction. Its campus, surrounded with a green mountain and a quiet river, is a nice place for education.

The University establishes 4 important labs, respectively devoted to molecular biology & biological ****, applied psychology, digitalization & resources environment IT and program switch & communications networks. It also sets up 4 important bases for liberal arts, respectively focused on the research of the Sichuan folklore culture, the research of Li Bai, the research of literature & mass media and the research of issues regarding farmer, countryside and agriculture as well as 20 institutes respectively dedicated to the research of German culture and education, ecological (genetic) research, the research of giant panda protection, and etc.
The University is one of the most international universities in Sichuan thanks to its strategy for educational globalization. It has cooperation with its German, American and Australian counterparts: Wiesbadener Musikademie, Folkwang Hochschule, the University of Bridgeport and Holmes Institute. It holds the International Piano Competition, Wiesbaden (Southwest China Preliminary) once two years as well as the International Forum on the Chinese and German Music and Art in 2005. It also offers a Chinese learning program for people outside China who are interested in the Chinese language and culture.

We employ teachers of English (English native speakers) between March and May each year and enroll students of Chinese all the year round.
