The service period will be from the Sep 1st day of 2008 to of . PART I: THE DUTIES OF PARTY A 1. Party A provides Party B with the full set of curriculum, necessary textbooks and auxiliary course materials, teaching facilities, course arrangement, lecture schedules, etc. on time. 2. Party A agrees to provide Party B with all possible and reasonable assistance by trying its utmost with the objective of Party B’s satisfactory stay in China. 3. Party A pays Party B monthly salary¥ 5,000-6,000 Yuan (RMB), 70% of which can be converted into foreign currency monthly. Salary shall be paid monthly and be paid on 2nd (pre-paid on holidays or weekends) of every month. The college will be responsible for the appropriate tax procedures in accordance with Chinese law. Fees paid for Physical Examination Certificate, getting Foreign Expert Certificate and Working Visa or Visa Extension will be borne by Party A. Salary will be fully paid to Party B during winter vacation. 4. Party A reimburses Party B or a round trip airfare up to the value of RMB 7,000 Yuan to cover the whole contract term. It will be paid at the end of contract term. 5. Party A provides Party B with medical aid to the value of RMB 1,000 Yuan, which covers the entire period of the contract. Any further expenses (including health insurance, etc.) will be borne by Party B. Party A will pay Party B vacation allowance to the value of RMB 2,200 Yuan. 6. The above-mentioned medical aid and vacation allowance will be paid to Party B at the completion of the contract. 7. A one-month probation period will be undertaken from the signing of the contract. At the conclusion of this period it will be determined if the teacher is qualified to continue. 8. Party A provides Party B with a cooperation teacher whenever it is necessary to provide assistance. 9. Party A provides party B with a clean and quality standard apartment(60 square meters). Party A furnishes apartment with the following facilities & appliances: i. A computer with Internet access; ii. A tape recorder, International telephone device, Air-conditioner, Color TV, refrigerator, microwave oven, washing machine, water heater, drinking water dispenser; iii. Kitchen facilities (including rice cooker, utensils, cutlery, pans etc.); iv. Complete set of quality furniture and bedding. 10. Party A provides Party B’s apartment with free supply of electricity and water. Party B shall bear a strong awareness of saving water and electricity and cut off water and electric supply when leaving room. Party B shall pay for the internatinal telephone bill. 11. Party A is responsible for the regional traffic between the airport and the College for Party B’s first arrival and last departure. PART II: THE DUTIES OF PARTY B 12. Party B shall observe Part A’s work system, and accept the work arrangements provided for him/her. 13. Party B shall teach 16 class hours (45 minutes per class) a week. RMB 70 Yuan shall be paid to Party B for each extra class hour. 14. Party B shall motivate students to work hard to achieving remarkable results in their course in the shortest possible time, especially in their spoken, written English and listening comprehension ability. 15. Party B shall evaluate and closely monitor the progress of the students’ English learning by regular arrangement of their homework, setting up targets and norms, arranging timely and necessary examinations and making written score record. Party B shall submit students final scores to the college at the end of each term. 16. Party B shall respect staff members, college students, and be patient with slow learners. It is not allowed to treat any students rudely. 17. Party B shall not undertake any other employment unless written permission has been granted by the principal. If such permission is granted it may be granted subject to conditions. 18. Party B may be fined by deductions from monthly salary (1/30 per class) for unjustified absence, being late or for leaving the scheduled class early. Party A reserves the right to take disciplinary action against Party B. 19. On important foreign festivals, or when friends or relatives come to visit, if Party B wants to change his/her lessons, he/she should submit an application at least one day in advance to obtain the permission of the college until the college has rearranged students’ lessons. 20. For security reasons, Party B agrees to strictly observe all the college regulations as well as local police authority. Visitors and friends are not allowed to stay over night in the foreign teacher’s apartment without permission. 21. For security reasons, Party B agrees to inform Party A in advance of his whereabouts whenever Party B stays outside the apartment overnight or travels beyond the urban area of Nantong. The first-phase of the project has been completed and 3,800 students have been accommodated. The present construction area is 101,000 M2 and 0.267 billion Yuan has been invested.
