Role Purpose:
To plan and deliver quality English language teaching and methodology training for primary-level teachers working in Bangladeshi government primary schools in order to develop their English teaching skills and knowledge and their English proficiency as part of the Training of Master Trainers in English (TMTE) project.
Challenges & Accountabilities:
The main duties for this role include but not limited to:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English, classroom practice and teacher educator training
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage/assess participants progress and performance throughout the training programme including classroom observations
- Contribute and adhere to established training plan, syllabus and calendar
- Maintain daily activity diary with weekly and monthly reporting to Academic Supervisors
- Support monitoring and evaluation data collection together with implementing recommendations from feedback
- Ensure safeguarding and guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policies for the following areas:
- Child protection,
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Health and safety
Requirements:
- Undergraduate university degree (i.e. BA in any discipline) plus a recognised teaching certificate (either Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL). Post-graduate qualifications and certifications preferred.
- At least 5 years post-qualification (Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL) experience (preferably within the last 10 years)
- At least 250 hours of teacher training experience (applications from exceptionally qualified teachers with fewer training hours may be considered)
- Teaching skills related to classroom management, course and lesson planning, subject knowledge, understanding your learners and learning technologies
- The post holder will be working with primary-level teachers and therefore knowledge about how children learn is essential
- High proficiency in English (i.e. full mastery of English across all 4 skills - equivalent to user CEFR C2 or IELTS Band 8/9 in each of 4 sections of the academic module)
