Overview
Xiamen, also historically known as Amoy, is a major city on the southeast (Taiwan Strait) coast of the People's Republic of China. Xiamen and the surrounding southern Fujian countryside are the ancestral home to large communities of overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia. The city was a treaty port in the 19th century and one of the four original Special Economic Zones opened to foreign investment and trade when China began economic reforms in the early 1980s. It is endowed with educational and cultural institutions supported by the overseas Chinese Diaspora. In 2006, Xiamen was ranked as China's second "most suitable city for living”, as well as China's "most romantic leisure city" in 2011.
Two teaching positions are needed in a public high school in Xiamen:
Position 1: High School Oral English Teacher
Starting time: September 1st, 2020
Job Descriptions:
English Reading, English Speaking;
Be responsible for teaching plans preparation, teaching, tutoring, checking homework according to the demands；
Take on any additional responsibilities which might from time to time be determined as；
Less than 28 sessions/week workload (40 minutes for each session), including daily teaching, exams invigilating and others.
Position 2: English Teacher for Technology
Starting time: September 1st, 2020
Job Descriptions:
Contract Period: September 2020 -- July 2021
Location: A public high school in Xiamen, a beautiful coastal city with fresh and clean air and good environment for work.
Subject: Physics, Chemistry, Experimental courses and other scientific courses. This course emphasizes the application of and interconnectivity between biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science as well as technology and engineering fields.
Workload: Less than 25 sessions per week, including class teaching, office hours, tutorials and other work (each session is 40 minutes).
Job Requirements:
Native English speakers;
At least Bachelor Degree;
TESOL/TEFL/CELTA/TESL certificate is preferred;
With more than one-year relative teaching experience;
Presenting ideas effectively and formally in a scholastic environment
Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues;
