Our public schools in Guangzhou are now recruiting qualified English teachers to be a part of our close knit community of professional teachers. We currently have openings for our primary school and kindergarten.
We use a range of teaching methodologies and materials to ensure students grow as confident communicators. Classes focus on a communicative approach and make use of English activities, group work, projects, English based games as well as story telling and role plays. The maximum working hours per week is 35 so teachers will still have sufficient time to explore around the city that they are assigned to and experience a unique part of China with a long history of kung fu and martial arts and is also known as the paradise for food lovers. Teachers will be teaching averagely 20 to 40 students per class.
Guangzhou The City
Guangzhou, a prosperous metropolis full of vigor, is the capital city of Guangdong province located along the south coastline of China. Being an excellent port on the Pearl River navigable to the South China Sea, and with fast accessibility to Hong Kong and Macau, Guangzhou serves as the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center in the Guangdong area.
Guangzhou is considered as the paradise for food-lovers in south China. Guangzhou dish represents well the Guangdong cuisine, which is one among the most famous eight cuisines in China. A large amount of time-honored restaurants and quality new restaurants serve various authentic Guangzhou dishes, snacks, and drinks. Explore a modern, developing city with an exciting mix of restaurants, bars, shopping as well as tradition elements.
Main Responsibilities
o Maximum of 35 teaching hours per week
o Student ages: 3 to 16 year olds
o Average of 20 to 40 students per class
o Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, exams, etc.)
o Assess and record students progress and provide grades and feedback
o Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities
o Observe and understand students behavior and educational needs
Compensation
o Excellent salary: 18,000 to 22,000 RMB per month
o Free accommodation provided by the school OR 2,000 RMB housing allowance per month
o Air ticket prepaid or airfare reimbursement on contract completion: 5,000 RMB
o Hotel allowance provided upon arrival at our school
o Annual Salary Increase based on performance
o All national holidays plus 1 month winter vacation (full pay)
o Legal Z work visa provided
o Health and accident Insurance provided
o Professional pre-job training with on-going program supervision
Requirements
o Bachelor degree required
o TEFL certificate 120 hours plus preferred (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL, www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
o Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland
o 2 years of teaching experience preferred (will consider candidates with no experience)
o Clean criminal record check
o Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
