Salary: 12,000 – 14,000 RMB / month

School Background: This Chengdu-based school is a full-board, high-quality private foreign language specialist institution, officially approved by the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau. It is a international school with an independent campus. Students are encouraged to simulate an international way of life within the school, with language, interpersonal communication, thinking methods, and living habits. Since 2005, over 400 school graduates have went on to universities across the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia, including Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, NYU, University of Toronto, and University of Sydney. The school has partnerships with higher education institutions in over 20 countries.

Responsibilities: 

1. Teach English in one’s own unique style;
2. Create original and exciting lesson plans and materials for classes (with support from the school);
3. Convey English language via more project-based learning;
4. Provide practical cross-cultural exchange information for the students;
5. Assist students’ understanding of cultural differences and how to overcome such challenges when overseas in English-speaking environments;
6. Adapt to different levels of capability within the classroom;
7. Engage with and motivate students on how to use English correctly;
8. Use PPTs, worksheets, videos, etc. to encourage discussion and debate;
9. Have patience whilst maintaining a friendly yet well-managed environment.
10. Respond to students’ queries with care and consideration both during class time and after class if necessary. 
11. Act as a role model to young people in the school. 

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree and above;
• Native speaker (from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa);
• 2 years post-graduation work experience;
• Have a good understanding of the needs of young learners;
• Excellent communication skills;
• A love of students and teaching;
• Sociable, dynamic, inspiring, energetic, organized.

Working Information:

• 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), weekends off;
• Office Hours: 8am til 5:30pm;
• Lunch Break: 12:00pm til 2pm;
• Students’ aged between 13 to 18 years old (high schoolers);
• Long summer holiday (2 months) and winter holiday (1 month);
• Classes are 45 minutes each, with no more than 20 classes per week.

Salary & Benefits:

• Base Salary: 12,000 to 14,000 RMB;
• Housing: Free (modern, furnished, Western-style apartment provided);
• Annual air fare allowance: 6000 RMB per contract year;
• Insurance provided.
