• 23 academic hours per week
• September/October start – June/July finish (contract length 10months, optional extension)
Situated outside of the city centre, Hefei No.50 Middle School resides in Shushan, previously the ancient district of Luzhou, which was founded during the Song Dynasty (960-1126AD).
With easy access to both the Subway and new Bullet Train Station, No.50 Middle School is conveniently located, out to the South West of Hefei. Boasting easy access to the more rural areas of Anhui, including the famed ‘Yellow Mountain’, alleged inspiration for AVATAR.
Hefei No.50 Middle School currently has links with schools in the UK, Australia and Singaore and aims to provide a broad educational platform for its students, “cultivating global awareness within talented people”
Hefei No.50 Middle School is proud to be part of the ANHUI TEACHING EXCHANGE program (ATE program), a Provincial Government sponsored program aimed at safeguarding and improving the standards and experiences of foreign teachers in Anhui province, while increasing access to high level foreign education resources for schools located throughout the province.
Hefei No.50 middle School’s participation in the ATE program, means that successful candidates will:
* Attend a government sponsored orientation program in the Provincial Capital of Hefei, prior to commencing teaching
* Have access to a 24hrs English speaking helpline.
* Receive help setting up a bank account and SIM card.
* Recieve medical insurance as standar.
* Have free of charge cultural excursions around Anhui province.
* Guaranteed apartment standards, including Wifi, household goods, air con, etc.
* Bi weekly mandarin lessons.
* Flight allowance of 7000rmb.
Additionally, the ATE program ensures all foreign teachers have access to an independent complaints procedure, managed by the Anhui Provincial department of Foreign Expert Affairs and the Anhui Provincial Education Bureau.

Please note that due to being a member of the ATE program, Hefei Number 50 middle school is only able to accept applications from candidates that are from native speaking countries or hold a degree from the following approved countries:
USA – UK – CANADA – AUSTRALIA – IRELAND – SOUTH AFRICA – NEW ZEALAND.
All degrees will need to have the accompanying transcript document, in order to be certified by an approved translation company with the relevant authorization from a Chinese Embassy.
Regardless of teaching experience, a TEFL certificate will be required along with a rececent Criminal Record check from the same country as your passport.
