Person Specification:

3+ years experience in similar role such as: Head Teacher, Vice Principal of academics, dean of education. (Essential)

English and Humanities Teacher (February)

Candidates must: 
1. Bachelors’ degree or above, candidates with appropriate teaching qualifications are preferred; 
2. Have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in the relevant subject; 
3. Have PYP or similar inquiry-based, hands-on teaching experience; 
4. Be computer literate and skillful in using ICT as a learning tool; 
5. Be competent using differentiated teaching techniques; 
6. Have experience teaching non-native English speaking students; and, 
7. Have experience teaching in multicultural class.

Candidates should: 
1. Love children and have a caring personality; 
2. Have experience with Chinese/Asian culture and/or be open-minded; 
3. Be creative and energetic in class; 
4. Be flexible and able to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities; 
5. Be organized, efficient team players; 
6. Happily offer meaningful After-School Activities and/or Extra Curricular Activities;

Contract: 
Teachers are contracted to work for a minimum of 182 student-contact days plus 10-12 professional development/work days per year. A full-time teaching load is considered to be up to 32 periods of 40-minutes per week, plus supervisory duties, after-school activities/extra curricular activities, and meetings.

Package & Benefits: 
1. It offers an attractive compensation and benefit package based on the degree, and the teaching experience. 
2. The package includes base salary ranging from RMB 15000 - 23000 per month, flight allowance, housing allowance, medical insurance, shipping/excess baggage allowance, and full support to our foreign staff on visa issues, etc. 
3. The school also gives the teacher an annual bonus based on his/her teaching performance and achievements in the previous academic year. The bonus includes, but is not limited to, cash, career development training opportunities, etc.

The successful candidate should be a self-starter, excited to work with the Elementary Principal to create and deliver the most appropriate ESL curriculums to suit each Elementary grade level. He/she should have solid experience and knowledge of ESL teaching methods, techniques, resources and curriculums. He/she should also be experienced in general classroom teaching and happy to provide substitute teaching cover from time to time. As the school grows, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the ESL Department and curriculum, to lead it, or from Aug 2018 to take on a general Classroom Teaching position. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills as he/she will have to work closely with Classroom Teachers across all Elementary Grades and liaise frequently with parents (who will be very interested) on children’s progress & home support. He/she should be adaptabile, flexible and resourceful: ready, willing and able to turn their hand to substitue teaching elsewhere in Elementary School.
