About the Job

Overview

With Aupairia Homestay English Tutoring Program, you will: 

Provide language tutoring and childcare to lovely Chinese kids for 30hours per week;

Gain teaching experience and learn a language with a relative low cost; 

The program runs all year round with a flexible length of 3-12months; 

Study Chinese (Mandarin) in the university or language school and live in the local community speaking Chinese in daily life;

Immerse yourself in Chinese culture through our culture courses and live with a Chinese host family who will introduce you to local customs;

Participate in our cultural activities, such as learning Chinese calligraphy, that provide context to what you learn in the classroom;

Explore the world's oldest civilization and visit traditional sites such as the Forbidden City, Lama Temple, and less touristy places that only Beijingers know about.

What we provide to you: 

Free round trip tickets;

Free accommodation and meals provided by your host family;

Free monthly stipend: a minimum monthly stipend of RMB 1,000.

You will learn Chinese language and Chinese culture at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) or a local language school. At the same time, you can access the facilities of the University such as the library and dining hall like other non-academic students in BFSU.

Orientation programme to help smooth your entrance into China.

Four Mandarin lessons and a monthly au pair activity to help you learn Mandarin, make friends with other au pairs and experience the Chinese culture.

What you need to provide: 

For the safety and peace of mind of our host families all au pairs need to provide a recent criminal background check, complete a medical in their home country and provide two character references.

Visa application costs in your home country.

Any personal travel or other personal expenses during the placement.

If you:

are a single person at 18-30 years old;

available for 3-12months;

have good English skills;

want to live with a Chinese family;

have no criminal record;

are in good health;

are a secondary school graduate, equivalent, or higher;

are comfortable looking after children
