About the Job

Overview

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for Teaching Fellows who can deliver our content and hand hold our students through this magical journey of self-directed learning, in some of the most difficult rural residential schools across the state of Telangana, India over a period of 6 months.

“Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Rural Education Fellowship” is completely funded by State Government of Telangana, India and will be conducted for Schools & College serving the discriminated communities of India, such as Dalits and Tribals. The execution will be done by KAARMIC Education Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Live at the Residential School during the fellowship and work to help students create a brighter future for themselves.
  2. Design and Run your own Learning Lab for the Placement School on the principles of Frugal Innovation.
  3. Facilitate 4 Daily Activity Sessions of our Curriculum to 160 students across batches at the Lab.
  4. Work on a secondary project along with the students to improve the School’s overall learning capacity.
  5. Fellows have the opportunity to introduce technology and internet to a community that has never experienced it before.
  6. Work with your co-fellow at placement school to design and deliver learning experiences (Extra Curricular/Recreational Learning practice events - Guitar, Painting, Typing, Computers, etc.) for the whole school to become better learners.
  7. Work to achieve adoption of all learning & development initiatives in collaboration with the School.
  8. Evaluate efficacy of the curriculum every week and contribute to curriculum improvement.
  9. Co-fellow not guaranteed for all placement schools.

  2. High proficiency in English Language.
  3. Ability to adapt with and be openminded about cultures.
  4. Good interaction and prioritisation skills while dealing with myriad of tasks.
  5. Leadership skills which would help bring out the leader in others.
  6. Resilience and iterative at work.
  7. Mentally prepared for living in a low-resource rural setting.
  8. Be engaging and enthusiastic around young people
