Who are we?
Kaleidos Education is an innovative and forward-thinking secondary school full of passionate and experienced educators in Shanghai, China. We currently have 250 students from all corners of China who come not just to learn, but who learn how to learn through an innovative program with a unique range of classes integrating critical and creative thinking skills, arts, as well as a Cambridge Global Perspectives course. Our school is located in the Pudong Distict of Shanghai, China.
We provide students (grade 5-9 / ages 11-15) with:
Community impact programs whereby students teach and assist the marginalized population in Shanghai, learning how to serve the community through teaching and serving projects
A unique summer cultural-exchange program, building presentation skills and cultural awareness
KMA Music Academy - Full time A-Levels Academy
Full time Music A-Levels (Junior High) program with connections with the Royal British College of Music, a specialized music course for students pursuing music performance and composition.
KADA Art and Design Academy - Full time Arts A-Levels Academy
Full time Arts A-Levels (Junior High) program with twinned with some of the top art academies in the UK for students with a passion and talent for the arts
KADA Junior - An Arts and Creative Thinking weekend program, where students learn Critical Thinking through various fine arts as well improving their English skills
Duke of Edinburgh International Awards: With Kaleidos, students learn team-building skills, confidence, discipline, and planning skills through week-long guided camping, hiking and survival trips throughout designated routes in three locations: The mountains of western China, the islands of Hong Kong, and a rainforest in southeast Asia
Who are we looking for?
- People of all ages who have a passion to teach and who desire to serve and help students learn.
- 3-4 people who can teach English with an additional ability to teach other courses: music, arts,
and science; training starts August, 2018 in Shanghai for the next schoolyear starting Sept. 2018.
- 1 program coordinator: responsibilities including ensuring congruency between grade levels, teacher
management, oversee teaching schedules, involvement and assisting with teacher training.
Which qualifications should you have?
- A good attitude comes first, and a desire to serve the community in China through teaching.
- Teaching experience and overseas experience is preferred.
- A recognized (non-online) TESOL certificate (i.e. CELTA, Trinity) is preferred.
