Overview

We are looking for 4 teachers at EF Baotou. Below is a basic overview of our requirements, if you are interested and want to know more details, please contact me (russell.stevenson@ef.com) for our school's welcome pack which contains a lot of information relating to the job, school and city.

Requirements:

Must be in possession of a passport from either Canada, USA, Ireland, UK, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand. (without a passport from those countries the lcoal government won't issue a work visa - please not, you don't need to have been born in those countries, just have a passport from one of them)

Must have a minimum of a BA degree - this needs to be notarized, and then authenticated in the Chinese consulate. (we can't get visas without a degree)

Must have a minimum of 120 hour online TEFL - the government checks up on this, so without it we can't get a visa.

Must have a clean background check - this needs to be notarized, and then authenticated in the Chinese consulate.

No experience is required

24 years or older - if under 24 and we can prove you have 2 years experience, we can get you a work visa.

Those are essential requirements, please don't contact me if you don't meet them all, we will not be able to get you a work visa under any circumstance.

We don't employ people on tourist or business visas, so again, please don't contact me to ask about that.

COMPETITIVE SALARY

We offer 10,000 to 12,000 RMB per month Net ($US 1,580 to $1,900), depending on teaching experience and qualifications. We also offer housing allowance and medical & dental insurance

To put it into perspective: The average monthly salary for Chinese locals in Baotou is 3,000 RMB, so you would be earning 3 – 4 times more than a local, as well as getting your accommodation and insurance provided.

The salary above is the Net salary, the school pays your tax and your insurance. They also pay for you to take a Cambridge TKT exam for Young Learners and reimburse air fare at 4,500 RMB every 6 months, so 9,000 RMB every year, there is also a 3,000 RMB resigning bonus.

This means your GROSS SALARY is 14,200 to 16,600 RMB per month (2,250 to $2,630)

CHEAP COST OF LIVING

Typical monthly spending required for comfortable lifestyle in China is about a third of what it would cost in English-speaking countries. 

– Rent (Single apartment):1,000~2,000 RMB  (covered by school) 
– Food: 2,000 RMB 
– Transportation: 200 RMB – our apartments are no more than a 10-20 minute walk from school
– Mobile/Internet: 200 RMB 
– Misc (Toiletries, snacks, clothing etc): 1000 RMB 
– Utilities: 200 RMB 
– Entertainment: 500 RMB 

Total 4,100 RMB.
